K - Isomers in odd - odd nuclei on the s - process path : 176 Lu , 180 Ta , and 186 Re

چکیده
The thermal coupling between low-K and high-K states via so-called intermediate states (IS) in a stellar photon bath is analyzed. The transition rates depend linearly on the integrated cross sections of IS and exponentially on temperature. These transitions may affect the effective halflife of nuclei under stellar conditions dramatically. Three examples are studied in detail: 176Lu, 180Ta, and 186Re. 176Lu acts as a thermometer for the s-process; however, there are discrepancies for the integrated cross section of the lowest IS at 839 keV. 180Ta is thermalized under s-process conditions within hours and may be interpreted as a “mixometer” for the fast convective mixing in AGB stars. In the p(γ)-process and ν-process 180Ta is produced in thermal equlibrium leading to survival of about one third of the synthesized 180Ta in the 9− isomeric state. The (8+) isomer in 186Re does not have significant influence on the s-process branching at 186Re.

Exotic rotations and seniority isomers in Nd nuclei
The existence of triaxial nuclei has been the subject of a long standing debate. The possibility of soft and rigid triaxiality has been proposed very early, and many theoretical and experimental studies have been devoted to this intriguing phenomenon since then. More recently two unique fingerprints of triaxiality in nuclei have been intensively studied: the wobbling motion [1] and the dynamic ...

The knowledge of nuclear reaction rates is important for studying energy production and nucleosynthesis, especially in reactions including nuclei far from stability line, which are not accessible experimentally so far and thus it is necessary to be able to predict reaction cross sections in low excitation energies. Nuclear level density is one of the important key quantities in many nuclear phy...
متن کاملApplication of a semimicroscopic core-particle coupling method to the backbending in odd deformed nuclei.
In two previous papers, the Kerman-Klein-Dönau-Frauendorf (KKDF) model was used to study rotational bands of odd deformed nuclei. Here we describe backbending for odd nuclei using the same model. The backbending in the neighboring even nuclei is described by a phenomenological two band model, and this core is then coupled to a large single-particle space, as in our previous work. The results ob...

An efficient Lookup Table (LUT) design for memory-based multiplier is proposed. This multiplier can be preferred in DSP computation where one of the inputs, which is filter coefficient to the multiplier, is fixed. In this design, all possible product terms of input multiplicand with the fixed coefficient are stored directly in memory. In contrast to an earlier proposition Odd Multiple Storage ...

Let G(V,E) be a graph with p vertices and q edges. A graph G is said to have an odd mean labeling if there exists a function f : V (G) → {0, 1, 2,...,2q - 1} satisfying f is 1 - 1 and the induced map f* : E(G) → {1, 3, 5,...,2q - 1} defined by f*(uv) = (f(u) + f(v))/2 if f(u) + f(v) is evenf*(uv) = (f(u) + f(v) + 1)/2 if f(u) + f(v) is odd is a bijection. A graph that admits an odd mean labelin...
